Team Workshops

Paint your
values.

Forget trust falls. Your team spends a day turning your company values into one large mural — every person paints, every person owns a piece of it — and the finished artwork hangs in your office long after the day is over.

10–60 people · No art skills needed · Everything supplied · New: The Retro Potjie

01 — Why A Mural

Most team building
is gone by Monday

A mural isn't. It becomes the first thing a client sees in reception, and a daily reminder to everyone who walks past it of what the team said it stood for — in their own handwriting, in their own paint.

01

Everyone contributes

The board is divided so every person — from intern to CEO — paints a section. No art skills needed; it's designed so that it's impossible to ruin.

02

Your values, made visible

Your actual values, slogans and symbols get workshopped into the design before a brush comes out. UBUNTU, SYNERGY, ONE TEAM — whatever your story turns out to be.

03

A permanent result

You keep a large-format artwork, varnished and ready to hang. Team building that turns into office art, employer branding and a talking point for years.

03 — Formats & Pricing

Four ways
to run it

Starting at R12,000 for a team of ten — about R1,200 a head for a full day. Every format includes the design workshop, all art materials, the MDF board, facilitation and finishing (varnish and hanging hardware). Travel within Gauteng is included.

04 — For Delivery & Engineering Leads

The Retro
Potjie

Your retrospectives have gone stale. Same room, same three people talking, same actions carried over. This is a real retro — it just happens around a fire instead of a Jira board.

The cooking time is the retro

A potjie takes three hours. That isn't downtime to fill — it's exactly the window a proper retrospective needs, and it removes the thing that kills most retros: eight people sitting in a circle being asked how they feel.

People talk differently standing over a pot with something to do with their hands. Juniors say things they wouldn't say in a sprint review. The quiet ones get a word in.

A potjie is built in layers. You don't stir it.

Which is the retro, exactly. Each layer is a phase of the work, the order determines the result, and once something's down you don't get to relitigate it — you build on top of it. Nobody needs that metaphor explained to them.

How the day runs

  1. Layer the pot. Each team maps their last quarter as layers going in — what went down first, what it had to carry.
  2. Three hours on the fire. A facilitated retro while it cooks. Structured, timeboxed, and written down.
  3. Eat. Where the honest conversation usually happens.
  4. Paint it. Each team of ten paints a board of what actually surfaced — not a generic values poster.
  5. Actions, on paper. You leave with a written retro output and a board, not a photo of a whiteboard.

No fire on site? Pick a different menu.

The format works around whatever your venue allows. Potjie and boerewors need outdoor space and an open flame — the other two don't.

Dietary requirements — halaal, vegetarian, allergies — are catered for as standard. Mention it when you enquire and it's handled.

05 — The Day Itself

How a workshop
day runs

01

Discover

Before the day, we workshop your values, slogans and symbols — the words your people actually use — and translate them into a mural design.

02

Paint

On the day, the board is gridded into sections. Everyone paints — guided, structured, and impossible to get wrong. Music on, phones down.

03

Reveal

The grid comes together into one artwork. It gets finished, varnished and installed. Your team made that — and they'll walk past it every day.
